Coupon Myths

Myth 1: Coupons are rarely for things I actually buy: There are coupons for everything from cleaning supplies to food to make up and personal products.  You would be surprised how many products have coupons.  And if it's not the name brand you are used to... would it be worth the switch if you could get it for half off or even FREE?!?
Myth 2: Generic brands are cheaper: While store brands or generics tend to be cheaper when you buy retail or full price, you can usually beat these prices when you combine coupons with store sales.  And as a bonus you can typically purchase a product of better quality.
Myth 3: Coupons are for processed, unhealthy foods only: While it is true that you will find coupons for cookies, crackers, ice cream, etc. you can often find coupons for milk, eggs, yogurt, and frozen or canned vegetables.  Plus the savings reach far beyond food items alone!
Myth 4: It takes more time than it’s worth: Your time commitment is entirely up to you.  With just 30 minutes to an hour per week, you could save anywhere from $25-$150 per week!  And if you want to be an extreme coupon shopper the savings can be even greater.
Myth 5: I can save more at discount or dollar stores: After combining coupons with rewards programs and sales, discount stores don't seem to have the same bargains you thought they did.  And it's not uncommon to get many of the products you find at dollar stores for less than a dollar!
Myth 6: Shopping multiple stores isn't worth the hassle: They eventually become part of your routine. Even with the price of gas, the savings far outweigh the cost.
Myth 7: Sounds too good to be true… It must be a little shady!:  This is probably the most unspoken and thought about myth.  Yes, everything is perfectly legal!!  And as funny as it sounds… these deals are usually advertised and even encouraged!
